Defy
When i came back to runescape last month. i had an account lvl 79. i tried playing it. but it just didnt real right.. it felt like cheating... going from not playing to lvl 79. so i want to start out from scratch. What are some good stats to complete the game (includeing members) i know u will say just everystat. but.. what is ownage vsing monsters? i wont be pking.. (hardly) so i just want a char that can pwn monsters.. so um... high def? high attack? medium strength? high mage? low - medium range? im just beating around the bush here cuz i dont know much.. so please fill me in if im doing stuff wrong.. cheers If this works out ill be becoming a member next week (hopefully) so that gives me round about 1 week of training before members.. Roberthree
A good monster killer has: at least 70 attack and defense for Guthans The highest strength you can get 55+ Slayer for Slayer dart A decent magic level for teleports, alchemy, ect. 70+ range for Black Dragonhide or Karil's gear (Magic defence) A high prayer level (the higher prayer the better, those protection prayers have limits) Verac's for KQ killing Dharok's for mass amounts of low-mid level monsters. (Can be used on some higher level monsters as long as you don't run out of prayer!) And a clan! you don't plan to solo the DKs do you? Well maybe you do, but then there won't be any profit! Keep in mind that a monster killer is very different from a PKer/staker. Pkers/Stakers tend to avoid prayer and defence to keep their combat level low. A monster killer needs prayer and defence or he won't last long. A big difference is that Combat Level doesn't matter in monster killing. A level 126 player can attack a level 3 monster, and likewise a level 333 monster can attack a level 3 player!
Defy
wow thats some really good advice..!! one question whats a slayer dart
Roberthree
Its a some-what powerfull spell that needs 55 slayer and 50 magic to use. Has 19 max damage. Often used because certain monsters *coughorminigamescough* drop the runes needed to cast the spell. This is good because you can stay at the spot longer, and make more of a profit. Roberthree
I'm not a very good "what to do first guy" but I reccomend that you only train melee combat while training slayer. That way you can get about 4 of those things on my list done at the same time. So, fart around and level other stuff while you wait for members. Try cursing your magic level up. Save your melee training for when you have slayer.
Lemurian
ok cool. so in this first week of training am i aiming for say.. 50 defence 40 attack 50+ str.... high prayer...(just burying bones from every monster i kill ..) should i get my magic up.. as i am not rich i dont think i can afford the runes yet.. One smart way to train Mage is to get a fire staff, Thieving level 28 and train fletching. Why? Because a chest in Ardougne gives 1 Nature Rune and 3 gp EVERY TIME OPENED. Alch your bows and your Magic Level should be able to get a little boost. Plus, you get cash. Owner of Quest Cape since 11/9/2007 23:30! Working my butt off to get it back. crow
ok cool. should i get my magic up.. as i am not rich i dont think i can afford the runes yet.. Just train runecrafting: I started a new pure mage when I was no member for a short while (stupid bank  ) and got like 22 rc in a little while (a few hours play, also using the runes for getting mage up from 1 to 30)
