Need help with training range 77-90+

Ok, I have a problem. In castle wars, I need an effective way to take out high level players without taking too much damage. I found another person with a great way - cast ice blitz or barrage, then step back and let fly with your crystal bow. This method requires 82+ mage and 90+ range for optimal success. I'm desperate to get at least 90 range, from my current level of 77, as quickly as possible without spending too much money. I don't want to spend more then 1-2 gp per xp, so chinchompas and cannon are a bit out of my price range. All I'm interested in is range xp, not slayer, so don't suggest "train range with slayer". I need specifics, such as:

 

 

 

Where: What monsters and where they can be found

 

What weapons: What bow/ammo or knives should I use

 

Advantages: Why this spot is better then most for training

 

 

 

Currently I'm thinking of training at bandits with MSB and mith arrows, using food or guthans to heal. If you have a better place, please let me know.

Zezima's method was to range blues using a crystal bow (i think). You can train prayer, crafting, magic, and range simultaniously.

Hey... I had forgotten about that. I remember seeing it in a Tip.It interview (found it here), but never thought of it much. I wish it could be faster range xp, but it sounds pretty good, and I might give it a shot. Thanks a lot! However, I'm still open to more suggestions.

Definetely blue drags until 90..im 99 ranged and thats what I did. Use a crystal bow and sell the hides to pay for recharges...or be REALLY smart and get your crafting up to blue hides and craft/alch em yerself!

Coming from someone with 99 range, I think that just convinced me to do blue drags. I'll sell or craft hides to pay for recharges, and save the bones for use with a guilded altar for prayer. Thanks a lot for your help!

I just realized something - I can only do about four loads of 13 drags each (room for degrade bow and best drop) per hour. 54 drags an hour @ 432 xp per drag = 23k xp per hour. Now I know that you make money from the drops, but it's only about 2k profit per drag, so 108k per hour. This dosn't seem very fast xp, but if my figures are wrong please correct me... In the meantime, I still need more suggestions.

4 loads per hour is about right - not the fastest range training by any stretch. If you want fastest - PC is your best bet. If you prefer monsters, Ankous on bottom floor od SS, or fire giants under the waterfall are both 35k+ per hour experience spots. they also have excellent drops. Quicker than msb is using iron knives at these guys - be sure not to afk though coz if you run out of arrows, you will run in and attack with your fists!

i found the BEST way for me to train range. you have to do this quest in ardougne and then u get access to a combat training area north of ardougne. there are ogres behind a fence and u can range them. they have lots of hp so good xp.

i did fire giants till 70, and am currently training on the blues as a few people suggest, but PC equals the fastest xp for basically and combat stat, and since chins are out of your range in price, i suggest taking the c bow and killing blues till 90, then sell the hides+bones and buy enough chins to get to 99

what's a chin? is it some new way to train range or something?

Using red chinchompas on the skeletons in the monkey madness island tunnels will get you around 200-250k experience per hour BUT you use 1500-2000 chins to get it, and go through 25 prayer pots (if you are 44 prayer like me anyway) ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ soo if you bought all the items, you spend 1.25M per hour to get the 250k exp. Fastest, and most costliest way to train range. If however you can catch your own chins, make your own pots, and donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t mind blowing a potential small fortune (if you sold the supplies that is) ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ then its mega fast range training for free with added bonus of getting hunter exp and herby exp to get there!
