Skuff_vll
Honestly I would cut willows, they might not be as good xp per log, but they are faster to cut and the trees spawn faster. Willows are the best wc xp period.
mchainmail
willows are fastest until the high 80s/low 90s, then maples and yews are comparable.
smilinmike
Should I bother spending the 2.6 mill on a dragon wc axe? 99 ranged90 hp86 crafting85 mage ...Eating players for breakfast since 2002.

Nobody realizes that yews and mages are slow xp. Everybody thinks that mages are best because they take the highest level to cut. Ask anybody in the race for 99 wc (click my sig for the thread) and they'll agree that willows are the best xp.
aoe325
Willows are the best way yes, and If I were you I would buy that dragon wc axe, for it will speed up training alot, and after you're done you can sell it back Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. And very north of seers village, near the murder mystery house, theres a bunch of maples that are deserted. No one goes there, but it's pretty far from the bank if you want to bank your logs. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
