Mr_Putter
Every once in a while I hear a song that I heard growing up. My mom listened to a radio station that was adult contemporary and yesterdays classics type of thing. And so, I'm hearing these songs now and wondering why I didn't find them amazing at the time, but I really like now. But a lot of these hits are forgotten amongst the likes of those other rock/pop classics that everybody seems to know (example. many songs by the Beatles). For a brief time, they were way up on the charts, but they've been relatively forgotten in time, or are no longer recognized by young people. So I'm making this thread so that people can post those old songs (60's, 70's, 80's, maybe even 90's if you must), that are generally not remembered, or maybe you have heard but never really knew who sung it or what it was called. I have a few examples. Of course, I can't post that many, because I've forgotten alot of them or their names >.<, which is exactly the point of this thread. Here's 3. Rhiannon: Fleetwood Mack : I pretty much dislike every Fleetwood Mack song but this one. This has a bizzare, creepy touch to it, and its really well written and played. I donno why, but I heard this in the car (even when I've probably heard it dozens of times), and one time I just couldn't get it out of my head. Sloop John B.: The Beach Boys : Apparently, according to wikipedia, this has been taken up by some soccer clubs in the UK as some kind of chant. Whatever, I just think its extremely calming and cool, but most people either look at the more obvious Beach Boy hits, or (in the case of many youths), ridicule those who listen to Beach Boys. The Cars - Drive : I was just walking along in the hall today, and this song just popped into my head. I couldn't even remember what it was called, but I remembered that the name of the band AND the title had something to do with vehicular travel. Anyways, I really like it, and I sorta connect with the meaning behind the lyrics (atleast, my interpretation of the lyrics). However, I've never, ever, heard someone mention this song. Foreigner: I Want to Know What Love is : Despite this probably being the most popular song by Foreigner, when was the last time you heard anything about Foreigner? All of these songs, atleast the last time I checked, have videos on youtube, and are definately worth checking out if you get the time. But they sorta have to be your style of music. This is all soft rock/adult contemporary type of stuff...Obviously not everyones thing. I have a whole bunch of others, including different genres, but this is the first few that came to mind. Please do the same!

Please do the same! Drive is my favorite slow song by far. But c'mon, that Foreigner song is one of their worst IMO. As far as songs like that go, Waiting For a Girl Like You is so much better, but their harder rock stuff like Hot Blooded (the juiced-up live version, that is) surpass both of them. Or Feels Like the First Time. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
Sir_Alex85
Foreigner: I Want to Know What Love is : Despite this probably being the most popular song by Foreigner, when was the last time you heard anything about Foreigner? They're on tour with Styx and Def Leppard, apparently. >.> I love Foreigner, they're one of my favourite bands. ;P Songs like, Long Long Way From Home, or Urgent. Or Head Games. Forgotten tracks... I guess some CCR may qualify? I rarely hear people speaking of Forgerty or CCR anymore. It really has
Bubsa
I heard Fogarty on Jools Holland's late show a couple of months back, promoting his new album. Well...it wasn't that good. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
