You could have fast training using the first or second levels of the SoS.

You earn exp as Hitdone*4 and not according to the level of the monster.

So, you may as well train on commonly available lower level monsters

to make kills go faster and require little food.

The SoS has rooms filled with fast respawning lower level monsters that are ideal.

You could try the minotaurs and/or fleshcrawlers.

Hope this helps

SoS is a good idea to look into as a combat training place, or you could train on guards. Another good place would be scorpions if you don't mind getting no drops whatsoever.
