I looked up and read on how you can lay more traps as you are higher in Hunting...does that number of traps include every kind of trap, or, say if I can lay 3 traps, could I lay 3 bird traps, 3 pitfall traps, etc.?

It means you can lap up to 3 traps at a time in total, any type. So, say I have 2 bird snares set-up and one deadfall trap. Those are my 3 traps at a time. :o

But you can't have more than one deadfall trap at a time.
