Knives vs. Arrows

Hey everyone, I am currently ranging hellhounds for clues and xp, and I was wondering which would be better - steel knives, or iron arrows with mage shortbow?

 

 

 

I'm level 62 range, wearing full red dhide, archer helm, glory, ava's accumulator, and snakeskin boots if that helps.

Knives are better on low defence monsters, but with your range level I'd say stick to the arrows. You'd hardly ever hit with the knifes, because of your low range level, the low range bonus and the high level hellhounds.

yeah just go with the arrows...cheaper and then you get the little bonus spec with the MSB =]

aren't crossbows better since the update? i suggest you try a rune crossbow.

Crossbows are more about attacking high level monsters (I.E metal drags) with high defense then training. They are slower then MSB, but are designed to punch through armor and defense. However, Hellhounds do not have high enough defense to really take advantage of this, and bolts are expensive as only bronze can be bought from a store.
