July 2, 200719 yr Hi there, My char is going to be mainly range / mage but I want 40 def on him for certain. Iwas curious to know which would be the best way to get 40 def? I dont want to gain any att/str levels so itd be either long ranging or just levelling with iron scimmy till 40, which would be the best way?
July 2, 200719 yr I've done the 1/1/40 with iron scim before and trust me, it's BORING. My advice is look for quests that offer defense exp. Try here
July 3, 200719 yr Iron scimmy will take long and will be boring... If you want to know the answer you should know it matters how high your range or mage levels are... If you can cast high level mage spells or use ancients (if you're a member) then go for it, if not try using long range with the best arrows/bolts or any other attack methode (and ofcours best bow/xbow too). support new ghostly stuff here.I see RuneScape slowly turning into a sadistic version of WoW..signature your as this use backwards this read to enough smart were you If
July 3, 200719 yr Use the method in spellcasting of training magic and defense. it will build up slowly. Long live the mighty runite warhammer, the only guardian defending f2p from overpower of tank pures!
July 3, 200719 yr Definitely get the first 10-20 levels fighting with an iron melee weapon on defensive style, then switch to your ranged and magic training. Use only Long Range when training ranged, and choose the autocast option that also gives defense xp when training magic.
July 3, 200719 yr Iron scimitar or long-range ranged attacks until 20-25 defense. Then you could do Dragon Slayer if you've got good ranged, that'll get you to 40 (maybe 41) defense and you'll be able to wear dragonhide bodies. Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D
July 9, 200719 yr Dragon Slayer is another good option, but I wouldn't train defense at all before finishing it, as it gives a considerable amount of xp in defense as a reward.
