Starting Slayer, Need Pointers thanks =)

Hi, I'm starting slayer, it's been at 1 for too long now :shame: .

 

 

 

I'm 96 combat with alright melee and range stats, I can mage but I don't really like maging. I have decent armour too and am moderately rich, so I can spend some money on slayer. Should I start low like every new slayer at the Burthope one or should I go to Vannaka or something? Should I buy a cannon and use it to effectively raise slayer?

 

 

 

Also, I was just wondering but the lowest lvl slayer needed to kill creatures that can only be defeated with slayer is 5 (crawling hands). Does this mean the slayer masters won't assign certain slayer monsters if I don't have the adequate slayer level needed to defeat it?

Yes, go to Vanakka and get the assignment. You'll get someone familiar at first, not a slayer monster. In general you'll have about 30-50% of all assignments NOT on Slayer monsters.

 

 

 

Fisrt few levels will be fast especially with your combat. Don't even think about maging mosters (too slow normally). Use Melee and Ranged.

 

 

 

If you want to raise Slayer very fast and can afford spend a lot of money on it, use Cannon (be prepared to spend tons of money on cannon balls).

 

 

 

After you get to 50+ in Slayer, you might want to switch to the Zanaris Slayer master. In general:

 

-- Vanakka gives more assignments which can be cannoned

 

-- Zanaris master gives more exotic assignments

 

Choose yourself.

Yes.

Yes, I would say so. He is easy to get to from Edgeville, and he will give you good assignments to raise Slayer fast.

Both true. My favorite mosters though are:

 

-- Banshees (very easy to kill, drop noted pure essense and a lot of good herbs - I make about 120K on them in an hour)

 

-- Basilisks (also very easy to kill, drop super good herbs and nature runes)

 

-- Gargoyles (yammy, but require 75 slayer :-) )

with your combat level, you should easily be able to get slayer up. If you have 8m, i suggest buying full guthans to heal yourself on monsters. Bank all theherbs that are droped and you will make a decent profit
