22woger22
I'm sure everyone knows of the money making method of collecting the resources your workers extract from your kingdom, where you put 1.35M in your coffers, assign your workers to full flax and half maples and sit back and watch the flax and maples roll in, and then finally sell it to those who require them. However, flax prices and maple log prices have dropped rather sharply (I remember they were much more a while ago), and it makes me question: Is this method still effective? Can it still make a decent enough profit that you can be bothered to teleport to your kingdom and keep your approval rate to 100% every day, even with flax being sold for 85-90gp each and maples 60-70 each? If anyone still uses this method (Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble quests needed), can they please post the profits they make and whether it is still an effective easy money-making method? Bashful
You'll earn more if you do something or use your rewards instead of selling them outright. Spin flax to bowstring, sell for about 190ea, or keep them for fletching. This will more than cover the costs. Burn the maple logs for xp, or you can try to sell them (not really worth though) Plant the tree seeds for farming xp, same with the herb seeds. You'll save money by getting xp without spending anything.. and you've earned some from the flax. yup, this's from a recent batch. 100% flax, 50% maples. 20 days. Spent 1.5mil 9822 maples 98 nests 12 gold rings 9 sapphire rings 4 emerald rings 2 ruby rings 23 acorns 7 willow seeds 3 maple seeds 1 yew seed 1 magic seed 10 apple tree seeds 13 banana tree seeds 3 orange tree seeds 2 curry tree seeds 1 pineapple seed 1 papaya tree seed 2 palm tree seeds 1 calquat tree seed 27503 flax (spinning to bowstrings, selling for 5.5mil) 18 guam seeds 5 marrentill seeds 5 tarromin seeds 4 harralander seeds 4 toadflax seeds 4 ranarr seeds 2 irit seeds 1 avantoe seed 1 kwuarm seed 1 snapdragon seed
klankaos
It's also good to simply get tree seeds, as spirit, mage and yew seeds are worth quite a bundle. Being immature is a part of being mature.

countzeroh
I thought the price of maple logs went up again recently? I don't often sell items directly....however it is my understanding, that maples are the HOT thing at the moment. Fletch em, and with Karamaja Gloves on, sell em to the traders in brimhaven and it is my understanding that you make a fair profit. Sorry don't know the exact numbers, as I haven't tried it myself, byt from what I hear, the price of maples jumped back up to about 80ea recently because of this one. Cheers Count
curmudgeony
Flax is dropping like a rock, the days of 100 per flax are over. The tricky part is BS crafting can take such a massive chunk out of your day that to spin the volume of flax coming out of the game its a little unreasonable. Maples too are not as good a money-maker as they once were, but the tree seeds you can get from chopping make up for it. But consider, flax "costs" 40 and maples 56.1, if you sell for 85-90 and 60-80, your money is doubling on the flax, and you're breaking even on the maples. If you keep pouring those profits back into the minigame, you're breaking even, and making a decent profit on the seeds. Not to mention coal is only 91 gp or so in game...
