Barrow routine change?

Hi all,

I have a quick question about barrows about my routine

I take every trip 3 (4) dose prayer potions.

first: Dharok, at the end of the fight I have like ~20 or when I get lucky ~28 prayer points

second: Torag (I do not pot here) ,at the end 0 prayer potions

Third: Karil (Before I enter I pot 2 dose of prayer potion) Something like ~15 prayer points.

Fourth: Ahrim (sometimes 1 pot sometimes not) I do not pot during the fight, end of the fight 0 prayer points. At the beginning and at the end I use specs.

Fifth: Guthan (I pot here when I did not pot at Ahrim)

Last: Verac (I pray here..)

So, I was thinking shall I fight Verac earlier because he hits trough prayer, so I will need to eat food when I go to tunnel..That is food waste so shall I put Verac earlier..

Mage armor: Full mystic with Zamorak/Guthix book, Mage arena cape and Mage ammy

Ranged armour: Red d'hide body & chaps (vambs when I use air wave so I replace the air runes with the vambs) MSB

61 def

69 hp

45 prayer

65 mage & ranged

Thanks,

Osiris

You've got Dharok right, go with him first.

After that, I usually do Karil, then Ahrim. This is because I ended up usually with the same as you. About 20 Prayer points left. I just use that remaining prayer and by the time it runs out, I should be nearly done with him. If he's ripping through my armour, I'll drink another dose after the next Prayer Drain. Then it's on with Ahrim.

With Ahrim, I usually drink another dose (1 or 2 doses so far) and run in with a MSB spec and my D'hide on. He doesn't hit that often, so I don't pray on him once my prayer runs out.

Once I'm done with him, I just finish the rest of the brothers without prayer. They don't hit often enough to be worth the extra doses. I go in the order of Verac, Guthan, then Torag. Doesn't really matter though. It's also kind of pointless to pray against Verac because he can hit through your prayer anyways.

This method allows me to get through barrows with barely using a full pot. Only bringing one pot also leaves more room for food, which is needed in the tunnels. Always (with a melee brother in the tunnel) use a safespot. If you get him in a room without one, run to a different room and spawn him there. That way you really won't need prayer in the tunnel.

Hope that helped!

Most people seem to kill dharok first and then karil. Then something like verac and ahrim, finishing of with torag and guthan.

This is basically the order of thread from the brothers, with dharok the most dangerous one and guthan/torag the least dangerous. Each dead brother increases the drain rate of your prayer. Therefore, first kill the brothers where you really need prayer, then kill the less dangerous ones.

good luck :)

Hmm okay but what kind of armour do you use, because I have mystic to kill them fast..I was thinking last time to replace my Zamorak/Guthix book for a rune kite

This is what I do:

Dharok (have ~20 points left)

Kharil (Until I'm out, usually only lands 1-2 shots before I KO him)

Ahrim (I don't pray, black d'hide usually keeps me safe)

Karil (Drink 1-2 doses, and kill, only hit's around 9's with prayer on)

Torag (Don't pray)

Guthan (Don't pray)

That's mostly it.. (that's also from when I was broke).

  •
    1) Replace the helm with a Mystic hat. I didn't have on at the time, and it helped with the Prayer bonus.

    2) Replace the team cape with a God Cape.

    3) Get better RFD gloves!

    4) Get better boots. Preferably Mystic Boots for the Mage Bonus.

    5) You can also wield a God Book (preferably Zamorak) for maging, and a Rune Defender for melee.

    6) You can use Monks or Sharks, but I got by with lobs just fine.

    7) Replace the D'hide armour with whatever you can wear currently.

    8) MOST IMPORTANT! Don't leave out the ring of life. Have plenty of those in the bank.

do ahrims first but use k bow with high range, bring 20 racks per time you kill ahrims, you should set as rapid no range pot or prayer, just mage protect and keep attacking him you should kill him fast enough to have maybe 6-9 prayer points left leave out immediately

then kill dharok + prayer pot for 6-9 + x *x = amount of points you restored*

then karil cause he's pretty dangerous, then verac cause since the update he's been a pain

then guthan cause he's a bigger threat than torags

You are not alone, Our Father, God will always be with you.

you listed karil twice, andi think its best to go for karil after dharok, then verac, ahrim, guthan, and torag.
