(Ranging Question) 87 + Range

Recommended Posts

I am currently 87 range, heading for 90 + (eventually 99).

I am going to be ranging till I achieve my goal, which means I will be doing nothing but training range.

From talking to many 99 rangers, they all tell me fire giants is the best (please don't give me any other spot to train unless you know for sure it's better, EXCLUDING PC).

I don't know what to use to train. Should I buy a ton of knives, or should I buy crystal bows? It's either going to be one of the two, but for knives you have to keep constantly picking them up, and that gets very annoying. Crystal Bows I have about 3-4 of them, and I don't mind getting them enchanted when they are seeds. I am pretty sure I want to stick with crystal bows, but my question is, are crystal bows a good decision, or should I stick with the knives? Can someone who knows what they are talking about please help me out and tell me what to do.

ALSO, how long do you predict 87-90 range will take at Fire Giants?

I heard iron knives are very good @ fire giants. Use Ava's Accumulator to auto pick up your knives. You will probably get your money back with the drops. I'm pretty sure you'll even get a profit..

I'm going to go with the iron knives. I can buy a ton for a cheap price and even though it's annoying to pick them up, they are the best.

So many high 90 + rangers said that's the best thing to do.

Anyway, anyone predict how long 87-90 will take at Fire Giant's with Iron Knives?

As i have mentioned before, you should seriously consider doing Animal Magnetism to get Ava's Accumulator, especially for training at fire giants (there's no obstacles to interfere with the device, right?). It will really speed the process up..

chinchompas are said to be 300k exp an hour @ ape atoll, but i dont know that training method, nor do i care about it.

LOL - If that was the case, I think a lot more people would have 99 range. I HIGHLY doubt that's true.

It's possible, just very expensive ;)

I dislike fire giants. Not because they are bad training, but because everyone thinks they are so great. That means they're crowded, always. And that slows down training considerably. Basically, train on anything with high hp and low def, like lesser, greater or black demons. Hellhounds, all kinds of giants and some slayer monsters like bloodvelds and dust devils are also great.

Can someone please tell me the 300 K XP per hour with the chinchompas? I took a long break from RS and just recently returned, and I have no idea what you guys are talking about. 300 K an hour seems absolutely insane/unheard of.

I average around like 70 K XP an hour anywhere else.

So exactly how many of this chinchompas do I buy to get 300 K xp per hour, and where do I go?

I'm very interested in doing this, I thought it was a joke at first.

Can someone explain to me in depth what I need to do exactly to do this?

I'm willing to pay for it if it will get me 300 K per hour...

Okay great, I'm going try this with 1 M and buy some chinchompas/pots since I've completed Monkey Madness.

Can someone tell me what I should bring in my pack including like rope, a quest item, etc., and how many chinchompas I should buy?

keep in mind, this method is VERY EXPENSIVE, the ammo and the p pots are expensive in the long run. You use up about 17k a minute, yet you can gain up to 250k exp an hour, therefor costing 1m to get 250k exp in one hour.

Just so you know what you are getting yourself into.
