what do you think is the best way to get 85 smithing in f2p? i'm at 75 now btw..

Probably smelting ores into bars and then into plates, Steel/Mith.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

most 85+ smithers in f2p get 85mining so they can afford to buy steel plates to then make into plates and alch :P

Yeah.

 

 

 

Get 85 mining and then sell the ore to finance raising smithing.

 

But keep in mind that just selling the ore is a good money maker.

 

 

 

Being able to smith rune gear would be a great achievement

 

but now, Rune gear is the 4th best armor in the game.

 

So, it's not the big money maker that it once was.

 

 

 

It will cost you about 20 million gp to go from 75 to 85 using steel bars.

 

(Including Hi-alching the final result)

 

Otherwise you would need to smelt and smith about 37000 steel "ore"
