Arrr
People I know keep saying "oh vista is sooo horrible it has sooo many bugs it really sucks you shouldn't get it until they fix it." I've had it for months (3-4+) and there are almost -no- bugs, and any bugs I do find I fix in less then a minute. The only big problem is when i go to play certain games on the internet and if I click on something while it's loading, it freezes the comp. But I just wait til I click anything, and it won't do that. Could someone give me a link to a list of bugs with Vista? Everytime I ask someone what they are .. they just go "uhh .." me and kashi are running for president in '08.
Mercifull
Its not so much bugs but lack of support for lots of common software packages. Cruiser
Here's a list of bugs (most of which are patched) since that's what you asked for. The hardware requirements themselves should be considered a bug too, but that's just my take on it. I had major issues with networking working correctly after 4 hours of digging threw the system on a brand new laptop. UAC isn't really a bug but is annoying as hell when you're trying to get things done quickly on the admin side. Can't really say much more personally since it got replaced with XP a few hours after the networking headaches. Sadly, getting XP up and running 100% on unsupported hardware with the software I needed went faster than the 4 hours of network troubleshooting. :? ClareJonsson
The only problems I have had on Vista is compatibility with some of the packages and hardware I use, for instance: Nero Burnin Rom 6 I had to upgrade to version 7 Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus I had to upgrade to Studio 11 Plus. Power DVD Guess what? Yes upgrade! Fenix coding environment, i.e. Win32 Runtime and Flamebird2 This will not work at all, I use XP running on Virtual PC 2007 to get around this issue, it's not a solution just a work around. One other thing to note here is that my hardware supports virtualization, so XP runs very fast on Virtual PC 2007. Netgear SC101 SAN device There is no driver support for this yet, so Vista cannot connect directly to it making over 300Gb of data a little redundant. Until drivers are released I have my server connected to it and shared out. This works but it's obviously slower than a direct connection. Oh and I cannot get Fable to run on Vista, which is silly being it's a Microsoft product :). Apart from the above my vista runs fine, and we also use Vista on a variety of systems where I work, and no real issues with it at all. No networking problems, and we do a lot with network, from wireless to connecting to domains. No worries there. I agree about UAC being a pain in the [wagon], but on my system I have turned it off anyway. [Assist-X]
