It was definitely not spam, though people treated it as such cause they didn't take the time to read and try to understand it...

If you want to know why a thread was locked, it is best to PM the moderator who locked it (in this case Phil). If you disagree with the lock all together, PM an administrator to discuss it. But there's no need to create a public discussion about it.
