August 16, 200718 yr Bluetooth is a big truck, wireless is a series of tubes. I get what you mean but for somebody who does not know much about computers or the series of tube joke (if thats what you were referring to.), then he will have no idea what you just said. Anyway to some it up in my words. Bluetooth is wireless that is used in short distances and is used to connect devices to one another, such as a cell phone to a bluetooth headset or wirelessly connect a device to your computer. The ps3 also uses this for their controllers. Wireless is for the internet and networking of computers. It can be used over longer distances and I believe it's faster. Although bluetooth can be used for the internet and to link computers but is not as good as wireless G or N.
August 16, 200718 yr bluetooth is synonymous with quality. Formula 1 drivers use it, and with cars that sound like jets taking off.. I'd imagine it to be better.. although I've never heard blue tooth being implemented for use of internet. I'd say wireless would be best choice for that. not to mention bluetooth is quite spendy.

Wireless is such a vague term, for all I know someone could say wireless and be referring to something without wires. :-s Ethernet (in its most common usage of the word) is referring to the connector on the back of your computer/router/modem that looks like this: If you have a wired network at your house, you have the DSL or cable model connected to a wired router with an ethernet cable. You would then use an additional ethernet cable to connect a computer to the router. The numbers and letters refer to wha type of wireless connection the router and wireless receivers are. 802.11b is an old and slow kind that no one uses anymore. Most wireless networking stuff nowadays is 802.11g, which has a maxium data rate of 54Mb/s. 802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b, meaning that if you have an 802.11g router and an 802.11b wireless network adapter, they'll work with each other (though of course at 802.11b speeds). The new kid on the block is 802.11n, which is supposed to be rly fast. :-s
August 16, 200718 yr Wifi and Bluetooth work on the same frequency, most of the time. (2.4 ghz) Some wifi (I think Wireless N) operates on 5.2 ghz. The biggest difference is how the connection is established, as in how the bluetooth devices say, 'I can work at such and such a speed', and the other one says, 'Well, I can only work at such and such a speed. so let's work at that speed.' It sound kind of preeschoolish but it works.
