i123i
Alright, well I know that today's hip hop is always been sacked because there's no lyrical content and all and I've picked up a few dance songs myself and learned the lyrics but never tried the dances because they looked WAY too hard for me, thus I always hated them and maybe it's the reason why diehard fans of hip hop hate it too, I'm not sure but we all have opinions. So I have hated the Crank That craze which started a few months back when Soulja Boy released his track which if anyone who follows mainstream hip hop knows it's blowin up big just recently due to the video and him getting bigger and all. Well I decided to youtube the dance to see if they had any instructional videos and found the video SB released himself so I checked it out and tried to follow with it. I found myself actually enjoying the song 10 times more because I knew how to dance to song and it wasn't just about lyrical content then...and lately it seems every hit is a dance song, meant for clubs so I pose this question, do you dance to your hip hop tracks that are meant for dancing? Honestly as before mentioned I never have but I'm so addicted to doing it now and I've come to the conclusion that really hip hop should just develop a new subgenre for dance music so people can stop saying that hip hop is being ruined. How I see it is that hip hop wouldn't be represented by dance music anymore to the diehards but it wouldn't stop the simple rhyme schemes of today's gangsta rap either....trailed a bit off the end of my post but, discuss :)

ltb2006
Songs like Pop lock and Soulja boy don' get played in the clubs near me, more like "tipsy" or "yeah". Which isn't really the same because it's not like instructions as it is with soulja boy. Yeah i've never actually danced to soulja boy or pop lock+drop because if i did it would probably be by myself...idk maybe ill try it some time  EDIT:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sLGLum5SyKQ. That's pretty good help with it :
