Nadril
oh boy.... Its cal's turn for C&C this time  I'm just gunna leave you with this: There realy isn't a surface map. Do you think a yellowish sand color thats too rough to be sand is realistic at all? The mountains are just random... like no thought at all put into the camera angle or terrain. try downloading http://www.world-machine.com .... it should hopefully help somewhat. The atmosphere is also just basic. You realy didn't do anything to it. So... wait for Cal for the full C&C, i just did like 5 paragraphs of it for comando, don't want to again
Guest
Nad, you're sick :P AND a Lazy Cabbage Wagon. Sorry but there's really nothing I can compliment on this one, so I'll get straight to the point. The atmosphere; You've done nothing to it that I can see. EVERYTHING in this basically looks like it's on default settins besides the terrain. Try playing around with the suns heading, height, color, strength, etc. Learn from your mistakes, and not making mistakes is nothing to learn from... so play around. The clouds aren't really helping anything either, but they hold no place in such a simple atmosphere, since most people use clouds to create some sort of effect. The terrain; DOWNLOAD WORLDMACHINE!! I can't advise you on how to use it as it is not compadible with my computer, but I still know how much it surpasses the actual landscape sculpting tools Terragen provides you with. If you won't do that though... try to put some thought in to what you're sculpting, and don't just put all the settings in generate landscape on high (if you even used the generate landscape tool). As it is, it has no realism. Just random bumps that don't even look like mountains. The surface map: Ya know, there is no surface map there. There is nothing for me to tell you to improve on other than to actually make a surface map. And I really have no intention on basically writing a beginners guide on how to use Terragen, which is what I'm already doing now. There's a difference between C&C and writing a guide. When you actually make a surface map, I or Nad will tell you how to improve THE EXISTING ONE, but we don't really want to tell you how to make one from scratch. Realism: There is none that I can see other than the sky colors which apparently are default. Camera: Did you even move the camera? Though I don't see the point of moving it when all you're going to see is the default atmo and the terrain that has no apparent concept other than unrealistic bumps. Sorry for being harsh, but I really do not feel like writing a guide on how to do this, and would prefer to help something that already exists improve. ~Cal

Nadril
i also dont understand worldmachine+terragen thing Well maybe actualy look at the site and read the begining manual? It realy isn't exactly complicated. also... to be blunt here, if you don't understand it at all, and arn't willing to try, than you realy arn't in any place to keep working in terragen. Yes i'm being blunt, yes i'm being rude, but its true. At least try and make your stuff look good. I'm preaty sure you know what looks good and not....
