I usually use softer brushes on my work. I wanted to experiment with the harder brush, more paint looking feel. It was great fun!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It took a while to get the hang of it, but the colors, etc. seem to pop out better.

Just so you know, you're the only loser who paints with fuzzy brushes.

Naw, not the only one. but it is a different style. Hard brushes are better for colors. But I think some of the nuances can be captured with softer brushes..it is a lot easier to blend that way.

Sure. I really like the composition. The angle is awesome. Good color choice, too. Although I'd say it isn't developed enough to completely critique it. Good start though. :)

I am trying to focus on working more quickly. Stumbled across a great speed paint thread on concept art, kind of inspired me to try this style. This thing still took....over 5 hours...no way it should take that long. But I am just learning the harder brushes. The next one won't take as long.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They do some masterful stuff in under an hour there.

Oh man, whatever caused it, that just is not good. I changed the jaw line and a few other things..hopefully got it fixed :)

updated again, put in the other eye, etc...and made more anti-michael jackson adjustments :)
