i trained my mage to 55 by casting fire strikes on lessers at karamja and moss giants on crandor.

 

you would need about 5,4k fire strikes to cast to lvl 55.

If you don't need hp exp, just curse at the zammy mage and wear iron armor.

 

If you want hp exp you could try to cast fire strike on hobgoblins near rimmington.

 

These are quiet cheap methods.

You could do it with, at most,

 

3625 failed Curse spells or with about 5533 Fire Strikes.

 

The cost per spell is about the same.

 

 

 

There are lots of places that will work well for you.

 

A multicombat zone is nice since that means that you will almost

 

always have a target available.

 

I like to cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across

 

the water at the 4 zombies in the ladder room.

 

 

 

But the caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, or Port Sarim jail prisoners,

 

or Al-kharid mine scorps from the above, caged lesser demon, river ducks,

 

etc, will also work.

I did crumble undead in varrock sewer until mid 60's when i was F2P and it went pretty fast
