agira
Try to seek books, i saw one "game creating without programming" just i not sure how it serious, but you can try, because if you start to learn C++ it will take 5+ years, then you can start to do something, but for game creation require not only programmers but a lot of artists to and they do bigger part of work if really, programmers just write engines, make intallation packages but all art, music, graphic do artists not programmers and rare who write game alone and rare games what are written just 1 man people play a lot, for example game like Runescape i think developing not 1 departament from something like 50-300 people.. look for for exapmle StarCraft - this game created more then 100 people and spent on it more then 1 year. Some website links: http://www.gamedev.net/ http://www.gamedotdev.co.za/ http://www.gamedev.com.br/ C# based: http://einfall.blogspot.com/ java based (like RS): https://games.dev.java.net/ But best link is search on google keywords "game dev" or "game developement" you find a lot of information and you will need more then 1 year to read all ;) One more thing, i saw opensource projects (some of they are MMORPG type) where people not for money just for fun creating games and they allways seek team mates. Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
dunno_com
Gamemaker is probably the easiest way to make games. You don't have to do any programming at all to make simple games. Heres the link: http://www.yoyogames.com/make
ClareJonsson
Gamemaker is probably the easiest way to make games. You don't have to do any programming at all to make simple games. Heres the link: http://www.yoyogames.com/make I second that, especially if you're new to coding. With Gamemaker you're able to quickly knock up a game using drag and drop, but when you get bored of that, it has it's own language which allows you to create more complex games, including some 3D stuff. By the way, here's something I wrote using Gamemaker: http://www.berzerk.co.uk/berzerk2005/ It's a basic upgrade of an old Arcade game called Berzerk, and was what I used to test Gamemaker and how easy it was to use. If you want more of a challenge then you could try Fenix. With Fenix you can write games for various platforms such as: Win32, Linux, MacOS, BSD, BeOS, GP32, GP2X, Dreamcast and PS2. Have fun! happybappy
Try the rpg toolkit at http://www.toolkitzone.com It's great for making rpg's and the site has a friendly helpful community! If y0u5 b3 a 1337 H@}{0r y0u5 be l3@rn1n C++. If you want to eventually make it into a career or you want to make something more unique learn a real language. If it is very casual you could use a toolkit.
JoeDaStudd
For your looking for something which will do all the work for you you should be looking for a game creator/tool kit. If your serious about programming then I would recommend that you take a look at a language Lua which is a simple language to get started on, then progress to to C\C++ (if it still looks hard after Lua then try VB then C\C++).
