September 21, 200718 yr I get the error message "Could not connect to the Steam network" I just installed Steam, and I went to the support site, but I do not know how to set up my router and firewall for Steam, help? I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.
September 21, 200718 yr You downloaded and installed steam..did you create an account? It's been a while since I did, and I installed from the HL2 CD...so..it may be different. I do know for sure if you're using Norton Antivirus, it'll display a firewall message that you need to confirm.
September 21, 200718 yr Your firewall might be blocking it. If you use proxies to connect then steam is uselss unless you use direct connect. www.di-rs.com
September 21, 200718 yr The obvious is you need an account. Following that make sure anything isn't blocking it (such as a firewall).
