Some questions about possibly investing money in a 360

Featured Replies

1. My roommate and I wanted to get one and possibly split the money for it, the only problem with that would be where we would take it when we didn't have classes. I guess we could switch off, but in all reality my place would be better because we spend more time there and I always have a ton of people over, I just don't really want to tell him that in case he takes offense or something. If anyone has advice on this one that would be appreciated.

2. Another drawback would be that we would PROBABLY have to get a pretty decent TV if we were to get a 360 right? Ours is like 16 inches and its one of those old TVs that has a VCR player built in 8-) . While we have been having fun with the N64, there are some sweet games for the 360

3. My friend has a regular 360 and it broke, and apparently they break pretty frequently? I wouldn't want to waste my money on something that has a good possibility of breaking.

4. How much money would I really be looking at if I were to invest in a 360, a few games, and a couple controllers? I've seen a few products that are the same thing pretty much but different prices so I was kind of confused.

5. How do you know if you the regular Xbox games are compatible with the 360? Some games don't even work on it which is really lame, but I think some do?

I'll probably think of more later so thanks in advance =p

And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must.

How big are your balls? The only way to claim the right to have the 360 in your room is to have balls that are at least twice the average size of balls in the American household according to the 2000 National Census.

1. Dunno about that, talk it over with him.

2. that might be a bit of a bummer, especially for split screen.

3. They're coming out with a new one supposidly soon(ish) that doesn't have the overheating problem. Some people have them some don't.

4. Well when I got my 360 I got it ($400) a wireless adapter ($100) an extra controller ($40) and two games ($80). If you don't get the wireless adapter you're prob looking at around $600 with tax, I'd assume.

5. Most of them do, I think the only ones that don't are the less popular ones. Needless to say pretty much all the ones worth playing are compatible.

Sounds like you'll need to 'invest' in a new TV as well. In that case, one should buy the 360, the other the TV - then every break, one takes the console home and the other takes the TV.

Or, you know, you could leave both there and use it as a gaming flat out of term time. Yeah, that idea suits.

Judging from the description of your TV, it probably won't support PAL-60, which is pretty much standard for all next gen games.

The variation in price of consoles is probably because of the different sized hard drive bundled with the 360 itself. There is the core system without a hard drive, pro system with a 20gb hard drive, and elite, with a 120gb hard drive.

I'd recommend the pro system, because a 360 without a hard drive is pretty much just an expensive brick, you can't save games, create profiles, or access the net on it.

And as for the elite, you probably wouldn't need the 120gb hard drive , because you already have a PC for storing GB's of media on it anyway, right?
