Yes, I've seen the knowledge base, but I'm still unsure of its speed (I've heard that it's faster). Could somebody who's tried it assure me that it's like all the other spears speedwise?

I would like to know too.

I've had one, tryed it for some time before I sold it, and its more like same speed as a whip.

 

But if jagex says spear speed then that's probally true.
