October 4, 200718 yr Ok my internet just DC the first time i change a new wire.. Probably 2 days ago. Just once just now, so it may be a short random DC. The other computer is working perfectly fine.. exept for occasional random DC it is possible that something is partially blocking the contact between the cable and port, look and see if any of the metal things are bent or broken, or if it is dirty or dusty. A quick blow of compressed air usually fixes these problems. Done that.. i Changed the Wire Go to this site and Enter DI 624 (which should be your router model, best to double check it first though) then check the revision and download the latest firmware. Follow the instructions on how to install it. If this solves the problem then its great otherwise I'm stumped as I've never used a cable internet connection  , but it might just be a firmware issue which the above would fix. Also done... Updated the Router. Argh im so pissed, Im so scared in the future it will affect me in PKing lol. And pissed i DC in metal dragons etc.. Dcing in the wrong time So what is the possible problem? Sometimes... Once every few hour i will lose internet connection >I am using a router >"the internet cable is unplugged" messege Does not pop out >After i plug out the wire and put it again >A messege " Windows might have no or limited connectivity" shows > then i got my internet connection back! Also, What model/make is your router? Are you on cable or DSL? How are you connected to the router (Wireless or Ethernet cable?)? My router Model is D-Link 624 I think its Cable Connected by Ethernet Cable So what seems to be the problem? October 4, 200718 yr I used to have a bad internet and it did that alot, the company was also bad and kept having problems with their internet. We had to call at the customer support all the time to get it fixed, but the fixing never lasted very long. If you are using telephone-based internet, the telephone wires in the walls can be affected by other electronic equipment and cause DCs. It might be your internet provider that isn't good and that is having DCs or is too stupid to help you configure your software correctly. I think its Cable Um, you think? If you have cable internet, there's a big cable wire like for the TV's that plugged into your modem's butt. Kinda hard to miss. 2480+ total

October 5, 200718 yr Hey, it's me again, ready to rock and here to help. I just looked this thread up and down, and I'm reasonably sure that if your PCs are all clean of any malware/viruses that the problem IS NOT within your home network. It is somewhere on the way to the ISP, or within one of the first 2 hops afterward. So if you've virus-scanned and see no viruses, run some "tracert <site>" commands, where <site> is the name of the domain of the page you are trying to go to. Check the ping times carefully. Anything jumping high like 'a cat flying up off the opposite end of a seesaw after an anvil's been dropped on your end' (Yes, slapstick humor  ... I love it. ...) automatically means the fault IS NOT within your home net. Once you've narrowed that down, you'll know what to do pretty quick. Here is to praying this info helps. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

I had a similar problem and we just called our ISP. They came out and performed some sort of maintenance, it was free. Things seemed to get batter afterwards.
