Terrible PK. Should I just train def?

Featured Replies

Keeping def low is to make you better in the wild. I see no other reason. I have had some fun in duel arena but I have had little success in wild with this character. I have 50 def. Should I go ahead and train it up to make my RS life easier and allow a little borrows use?

Maybe you should try to raise other levels to help make up for your def. If you post stats then it would be easier for me to help you. But if you really have no fun pking, I'd say its better to get defense and explore more things you couldn't do before.

in my experience i would recomend def and prayer(if you dont have to much) and try killing quest monsters

Being a ranger (and a pretty good for your combat lvl), you will still get owned by melee fighters in the wildy. Even if you raise your defense to 80, that isnt going to stop a melee figher from whacking thru your black dhide easily.

If you want to have fun owning some mages, hang out on the outskirts of the green dragons on the west side of the wildy (around lvl 16 wildy or so). Player mages love to lurk there to attack melee fighters by blocking teleport then entangling them.

Or, you could do like me and don't PK. I usually only venture into the wildy for Treasure Trails myself.

Lol. I own meleers already. Mages are my problem. The triangle is clearly to their advantage, which is why I have a mage pure which does well in the wild. I am thinking of declaring Nopheo as main and just getting all stats as high as i can.

Wow! Very nice then.

With your black dhide, I figured you would easily own mages, too.

Good luck!

Mages are trickier because they generally use both mage and range/melee. And its really hard to find one in deep wild so I always fight below 20 and they tele while they block me.

Maybe you just answered your own question, level your magic and become one of those tricky mage/range hybrids. You can raise your magic to match your range without affecting your combat level.

Maybe try employing tactics like those used in the following video:

I guess that works. I can use my staker to enjoy defense benefits.

Well, usually people have like 80+ atk and str then low def. I think your skills right now are too close together, or it may just be people have more experience in pking, and know little tips that can change the face of the battle.
