Mining/Smithing

Hi!

Glad to see that you got a good idea just that players might not like it because it might spoil the whole P2P market.

I got a idea, some of them are from reading this topic.

I will change quite alot of things since some players who posted in this topic makes some sense.

I hope this will help runescape to have their equipment, stats and skills ratio out.

Idea:

I will split this into 4 parts equipment requirements, pickaxe, mining, smelting and smithing.

Some of the things that is stated below will make things harder, since some players say that its not very hard to make it or complaining that cutting to exp or whatsoever.

Everything that is stated here will be for F2P.

All P2P items will not get affected other then equipment section.

Equipment:

Bronze: Level 1 to equip.

Iron: Level 10 to equip.

Steel: Level 20 to equip.

Black: Level 30 to equip.

Mithril: Level 40 to equip.

Adamantite: Level 50 to equip.

Rune: Level 60 to equip.

Pickaxe:

Bronze: Level 1 to use.

Iron: Level 10 to use.

Steel: Level 20 to use.

Black: Level 30 to use.

Mithril: Level 40 to use.

Adamantite: Level 50 to use

Rune: Level 60 to use.

(This will be the same for axe on woodcutting skill.)

Mining:

Charcol: Level 25 to mine.

(The rest will be the same.)

Smelting:

Bronze: Level 1 to smelt.

Iron: Level 15 to smelt.

Steel: Level 30 to smelt.

Black: Level 45 to smelt.

Mithril: Level 60 to smelt.

Adamantite: Level 75 to smelt.

Rune: Level 85 to smelt.

Smithing:

Bronze: Level 1-15 to smith.

Iron: Level 15-30 to smith.

Steel: Level 30-45 to smith.

Black: Level 45-60 to smith.

Mithril: Level 60-75 to smith.

Adamantite: Level 75-90 to smith.

Rune: Level 85-99 to smith.

End:

This will not spoil the market because everything you smith can be bought.

Low combat level players cannot wear full rune anymore.

Prices will suit their equipment requirement.

I might make a detailed mining and smithing requirement when more players support this.

I hope everyone will like it.

FTP player.

Goal:

85/90 smithing. 12,000,000/100,000,000 coins.

Total hacked and scammed losses:

1 billion coins +/- (Not in today's currency).

Smither pretty much hit the nail on the head.

We can't smith Dragon because there is no more Dragonkin.

We can't smith Barrows because it makes the minigame obsolete.

Rune has high requirements because it is the reward for getting that high and is a good armour. (How many people do you see pking in D skirt + fighter torso? Or torags legs and fighter torso?)

I never mentioned Barrows.

Yes, there are Dragonkin. One of them appears in a quest (I forgot which one). Either way, Dragonkin aren't nessacary to smith dragon. Just because the Mycaneans (spelling?) died out doesn't mean we can't make some of the stuff they used.

Rune is a level 40 armor. 85 is a bit high for that, don't you think?

ah but i think your point is ill made. if you introduce another way of obtaining an item the price will go down, simply put....supply and demand folks....

and i don't think that the cost of dragon wepons would go up (who would pay more then what a store sells them for, am i right?) i think its more a question of how far the prices will drop, due to a new method of supply.

take a look at rune plates...you can buy them for 50k....the guy in edgville sells them for 84k i believe....this would be because players can make rune plates ( not neccisarily a bad thing ) There for the only logical conclusion: smithable dragon items will lower the price of that item

Okay, where did you get the idea that I thought the price would go up?

I did say the price would drop, just not by much. Very few people have 95 smithing. Even fewer are willing to do a difficult quest to smith dragon. Therefore, only a handful of weapons will be introduced into the market.

Think of it this way. A crafter can make black d'hide, which is level 70.

A smither can't make dragon, which is level 60.

Smithing was fine back when Rune was the best armor. Jagex made a mistake back when they originally designed the skill. It didn't have any flexibility whatsoever, and allowed practically no room for new content. Unfortunately, Jagex released new content anyway, namely dragon, barrows...

I already make about 300k/H Smithing. In f2p.

So i dont support, mining and smithing are fine atm. There would be no pride in having 75 mining, thats not that hard to get.

This isn't about pride. This is about profit. A level 90 smither makes far less than, say, a level 90 fletcher.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Theres indeed a big problem in smithing nowadays.

Its so different when its in runescape classic days.

Rune equipment worth alot more times than now.

Jagex called this game "Runescape" because "Rune" was the best equipment in this game.

In the end it ended up other P2P stuff overtaking it, making it useless, unprofitable, cheap and weak compared to P2P stuff.

Now even a noob can buy full rune.

So whats the point calling this game runescape?

Why not just called it dragonscape or something else.

Back to topic.

As you can see in my previous post I have changed quite alot of stuff.

I've added black into it because we can buy them so theres no way any player tell me that this will ever spoil the market.

For dragon smithing, I feel that its somehow good but yet again its only for P2P so I don't think it will be very effective since P2P have better equipment than deagon (If I'm not wrong).

If dragon is not the best equipment in runescape now then I support smithing it and I hope brining it to F2P also, since rune market is spoiled.

But for now my previous post should be the most supported idea.
