Auicroa Posted April 6, 2005 Share Posted April 6, 2005 i tryed to make it look a little bit like the barrens from world of warcraft since a person in my clan wants a sig of one. it took awhile to make the painted rocks. the rocks looked smooth so i had to put a shadow on them to make them look more rough. i couldnt find another good color for the ground but im sure ill do better next time. its good to say i improved Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gandorf_101 Posted April 6, 2005 Share Posted April 6, 2005 i'll give it a 10/10 because i love and play WoW :P but if i didnt know what it was i would probly give it 5/10 cause landscape r easy :P unless you do it like nad lol or some other good peeps :) oh and the sky is too plain and too light?... or somthing its just looks diffrent to the barrens... p.s GO ALLIANCE! Nadril Posted April 7, 2005 Share Posted April 7, 2005 hmm... i can say i like your atempt at the surface map. Notice, i said "atempt" there are still many problems. First off, the grass is very...eww. If you were doing a desert type place, don't put grass in, and don't put in yellowish grass. Just sand or a sandy rock type of thing would work out. Also, usualy that kind of texture on the rocks doesn't go on mountains like that. It's found on canyons and such, and its also usualy on larger objects. This one is quite small, and up close. Also, the scene is very barren. You should be able to see at least some mountains in the far off distance (with that thing that small, you should see more). Also, the sky is kind of ... plain. Infact, its just the deffault. And trust me, the default doesn't look good. So with that all said, it has alot of problems. I do admire your effort though to get the rock like formation correct, (even if it isn't on the right kind of structure) because textures like that usualy take a little bit of time.
