Blue screen of death. The most general thing you can give about your problem. To top it off you gave no information like your system specs, what you were doing when it happened, the actual error message ect.

... the Blue screen of death means a windows stop error...

when the computer crashes and has a blue screen, then restarts

I would like to find a way to fix this

i have tried RegCure but it doesn't really help

for me it happens almost every hour

i could be doing nothing and it will have a blue screen, once i had one right when i turned on the computer...

Does the blue screen just say Windows stop error? Give the exact error code. Write it down next time it happens.

Have you scanned for viruses and spyware? Ad-aware and Spybot are good free spyware scanners and AVG is a good free virus scanner.

its not possible to write down what it says, the blue screen just shows up for 2 seconds then automatically restarts

and yes i have scanned with ad-ware and the PC doctor, and norton antivirus

Try this before I suggest anything else.

Right click on my computer > properties > advanced tab > start up and recovery settings > uncheck automatically restart under system failure.

Still try it, it shouldn't really matter.

Before that go to your video card's manufacturer's site and download and install the latest drivers.

It is the os that is your problem. The os is on the rom so that could be your problem. Ask a technician. you may need to put in a new rom with an os loaded on to it.

Probably RAM fault, I've had this error before when I was messing around with RAM timings and speeds.

Download memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/, run it and tell us if it gives you any errors.

You have no idea what your talking about do you?

The only rom you could possibly be talking about is on the motherboard that holds the bios and that would have nothing to do with this problem. Yes you could cause a clue screen from changing settings in the bios but not the bios/rom itself. (btw thats not what this error code says anyway).

goldenblade995.png

My it teacher last year was talking about how the rom stopped working then you get the blue screen becuase the os is kept on the rom.

Thats why i suggested it was the os.

however considering that it turns on and then automatically restarts suggests that it is not the os,maybe a setting was changed recently, causing computer to crash as it is.

Well never listen to that teacher again. The rom is usually 2MB big and I have never seen one over 5MB and your operating system is gigabytes (depending on the version).

Well he was a very good teacher. I got 94% on my gcse practice written exam. Its the technician, the other it teacher who is dodgy as a teacher, but he is a brilliant technician.
