hatebringer
I don't think, but KNOW i have tons on my computer, and really would like to know what would be the best possible removal/scanning program for this type of thing. I have used Spybot, but I don't think it really gets everything. Any suggestions would help. And one last question, What is a RootKit Malware? I don't really know much about that. 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer
Bac_Talan
A rootkit is software that hides other software on your computer. If you know you have one, delete it. I would use Spybot, Ad-Aware, and Spy Sweeper. The first two are free, and the third one has a free trial. I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.Pics or it didn't happen. I hate my generation.
Cruiser
A rootkit is software that hides other software on your computer. If you know you have one, delete it. Which defeats the entire purpose of it being a rootkit. If it's simply deletable, it's typical malware. A rootkit that's doing it's job correctly is integrated into the OS and generally not detectable because it effectively hides itself from everything else on the machine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootkit is a good read on the subject. I sorta knew it was hidden in some way, but yes, i will try out all three of the spyware tools, and try to clean out my computer. 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer
Hitman247m
On top of the apps that Bac_Talan mentioned, I think this program does quite a good job. Its more of an all-around computer maintenance program. Helps to keep your pc running fast, cleans out spyware and fixes your registry. Also lets you choose which programs run on startup, so you can stop some bad stuff from running if the bad guys didn't hide it well enough :-k http://www.download.com/3000-2086_4-10755164.html
adam_ross0
I'd go with Spybot: S&D, Ad-Aware, and I'd also run a virus scan using Norton Antivirus or AVG. Both are great. I'm not exactly sure about any programs to fix registry errors, but I do know that they're available for free.
