  1. I slightly modified the login script on my school's computers so that every time someone logged on it opened one of those rickrolls with the lyrics in popups when you close it. My school's computers are epically slow, so it took ages to get past it. (I didn't leave any evidence though, so I never got caught. 8-) Still awesome though.)
  2. Win7 build 7068 ;) Unquestionably the best OS I've ever used. Still a few bugs, but it's a beta, and still more stable/complete than Vista was when it was released. :P
  3. I get bored in ICT really easily, so I like to do things involving Command Prompt and batch files. Anyway, they looked in my network drive and my application logs, and disabled my account until they told me that I shouldn't have any Registry editing materials, batch files to open rickrolls on every computer in my class, or be using Command Prompt or any other programs not related to my schoolwork. :P And they didn't even punish me other than telling me that I shouldn't be doing it and not to do it again. XD
  4. Thats worse than leaving it alone. You are just broadcasting to everyone "I HAVE A PROBLEM" which lowers self esteem and kills you inside. This problem will take many months or even years to work out and will not come from a quick fix. Ok, correction: That's if they have a chance of committing suicide at any time. If you're completely sure it's fine for the moment, that's not necessary. (And it's possible to cover up the reason for a hospital visit somewhat..) And while it's not an option to be taken lightly, it's by far the best option if the situation's really bad. Low self-esteem > death. (Since it doesn't appear to be like that though, ignore what I said.)
  5. The best thing to do to ensure that she doesn't commit suicide is to call 911 and get her to the emergency room ASAP. Something that worked for me in a similar situation was pointing out that they weren't trying to die, they were just trying to get rid of their pain. If you can convince her that there's a better way to get rid of the pain, you could get her efforts focused on something more productive and much less potentially destructive.
  6. For me, what it took was acting the same way, and just being who I was. (In a somewhat similar situation.) That's the best advice I can give. Don't make her fall in love with a fake personality that you're putting on. If she falls in love with you, it'll be of her own accord, not anything you can do.
  7. Definitely. If your relationship is based off emotional pleasure instead of physical pleasure, that's actually better in my opinion because if you don't really fit with him, you don't get stuck in a bad relationship. (That's how I go about it, anyway.) Also, I haven't had to stop a long-distance relationship (USA - UK) in the last 4 months. It's hard, but definitely possible, especially if the separation isn't permanent.
  8. 51. -.- (I was at 65+ on that test a few weeks ago, though, so I guess it's getting better..)
  9. For a monitor: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=2775 I have one and it's by far the best monitor I've ever used. (Or for something cheaper, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=2775)
  10. Install MirageOS, and then copy the game files over to the calculator (They should go under Programs, even though you won't be able to execute them from there). Next, open MirageOS through the Applications menu, and then select the game you want. MAKE SURE you open the games with MirageOS, otherwise they won't work.
  11. Tip: Instead of filling in letters completely, draw every other line. The vandals still need to draw about the same amount to do their work, but we can draw twice as much. ;) Example (Only partially done, since I was low on ink): Zoom out, and you can still see it pretty clearly:
  12. That first build is all but identical to my computer, and I guarantee it will play any game out there. Crysis is the only one it's lagged on so far, but on moderate resolution/AA and high/very high settings it still plays smoothly. You don't need to go higher than that unless you're an extreme gamer/performance enthusiast.
  13. Skype. 'Nuff said. (Also MSN for people who don't want to install Skype. :wall: )
  14. When it syncs, it erases everything and overwrites it from your computer. Something must have changed your sync settings. -.- :wall:
  15. What are your system specs, out of curiosity? My laptop's way above the recommended specs and still lags unless I turn everything to minimum and play in windowed mode.
  16. Middle-click the ABP icon when you start playing (before you load the game) and then middle-click it again when you stop.
  17. When on my mom's computer, Firefox is completely smooth, and IE is so laggy it's unplayable. I haven't noticed a difference on other computers, but Firefox just seems more appealing in just about every other way, in addition to loading pages much faster.
  18. 32-bit OSs support up to 4 gigs but will only use 3-3.5 gigs. 64-bit OSs support up to like 32 gigs. Vista's really easy to get used to if you're using XP now. I'm using 64-bit Vista on both my desktop and laptop and had no trouble migrating from XP when I upgraded. Sure, there are some incompatible things because of the 64-bit software, but I have yet to find any major program that doesn't work (except ZoneAlarm, which currently has no plans to ever support 64-bit #-o). Every other recent program that I've used (Made in the last 5 years) has worked fine on Vista x64. Vista's only about $20 more expensive than XP, also. (And XP Pro costs $30 more than Vista Home Premium.) XP Home ($90): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... u=M17-7501 Vista Home Premium ($110): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=3778 (Both of those are OEM though, meaning you don't get support from M$ and you can't transfer the license to another computer after you install it.)
  19. I have an 8800GT, and it plays Crysis lag-free with almost everything on very high (Shaders and postprocessing on high) at 1280x800. It costs about $150-$200. (Q6600, 4GB DDR2-800). It also plays every other game I've tried on max settings with no problem. Maybe a little expensive, but definitely worth it IMO if you play a lot of games. Edit: Scratch that price. This 8800GT costs $130. Go for it.
  20. You can build a pretty good computer for $1200 NZD. Here's what I'd get: GeForce 8800 GT 512MB: $229 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_532.html?d=11782) Asus P5K-VM Intel G33 mATX: $150 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_463.html?d=12455) Core 2 Duo E8200: $230 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_532.html?d=12139) 4GB DDR2: $115 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_463.html?d=8588) 500GB SATA HDD: $105 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_96.html?d=9777) Windows Vista Home Premium OEM: $130 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_611.html?d=10008) (Make sure you get 64-bit so your OS sees all 4GB of RAM, or use 3GB of RAM) 500-watt Power Supply: $46 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_463.html?d=2021) Case: $42 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/c_10.html?d=12232) All comes to just under $1050 (Plus whatever tax you have in NZ). And that's considerably more than adequate.. That would do for an extreme gaming computer. My custom-built rig with almost exactly the same specs as that flies through anything I throw at it, even Crysis on Very High. It'll probably be future-proof for several years at least. If you want, you can even up the memory to 8GB (MAKE SURE you get 64-bit Vista if you do that though). The motherboard there will accommodate an extra 2 sticks of memory if you want.
  21. [hide=Pic][/hide] Personally, I would come back, especially if your computer can handle fullscreen. The graphics, bank and other updates have made the game much, much better IMO.
  22. I would. I'm moving from the U.S. to the U.K. for an indefinite period of time (several years at least), which is really putting a dent in my relationship with this one girl, but I trust her when she says she won't forget about me. If she really loves you, she won't forget, and especially not just over the summer if you've been together for 10 years. (It would probably be best if you could email/call her, though.)

  24. 1) You're right, but they're here anyway, and we can't make them go away. 2) Well, I wouldn't know (I've never been there), but if /b/ isn't good enough for you, I'm sure you can find a forum somewhere that allows mature content.. There are thousands..
