My question is: Is there a difference between playing Runescape on Firefox or Internet Explorer? If there is a difference, which is better and why? Thank You! :thumbup:

For some reason I lag a lot less playing on firefox.

I have never tried in internet explorer but i have played in firefox and it works fin but when i change worlds some times from members to nonmembers firefox crashes.

same here. plus IE isnt as appealing as Firefox, firefox has customization and add-ons and all that good stuff

Usually IE is a bit more resource-hungry than FF.

 

But i always run IE when playing RS, i don't know how to put it but it has an "active java window"... On FF or Opera i have to click a couple of times in-game before i can write, with IE i can write as soon as a switch to that window (i'm usually surfing or doing other stuff at the same time).

 

Actually, i have quite many problems with FF3, it keeps crashing every now and then.. But i don't run it so often so doesn't matter.

I heard Mozilla is safer then Internet Explorer, soooo..... :thumbsup:

Hmm, with me it was Firefox 2 that did that. FF3 never crashed on me :-k

 

 

 

And I only rarely used IE for Runescape, but I sence a difference, as minor as it can be, with the speed the game responds, meaning it is slower on IE than Firefox, but that's just a feeling. To get to the game, though, it's much faster with firefox, since pages load instantly instead of waiting a few seconds for each page to load on IE.

 

 

 

attacx, no, Firefox is not safer, just has add-ons to increase the safety of what you do, plus it's less vulnerable since IE is the most used browser.

When on my mom's computer, Firefox is completely smooth, and IE is so laggy it's unplayable. I haven't noticed a difference on other computers, but Firefox just seems more appealing in just about every other way, in addition to loading pages much faster.

I haven't had any problems with playing Firefox. I haven't used IE for over a year on my computer, and I hope it stays that way.

But that really doesn't mean anything unless you do not have an anti-virus. A browser is not an anti-virus.

Lol? Haha, for me it was that FF2 was stable, i can't remember when it crashed (surely sometime) but not as much as FF3. Lol, such big difference between people.

Might want to add, Firefox is more standards compliant that IE (Though Opera beats both), yet both have their own quirks for rendering certain bits of css and suchlike.

True, but I still use Firefox almost as much as Opera, since opera is a bit slower than FF3 for me. Lol just bought a new laptop, and first thing I do is download Firefox :XD:

same here :thumbsup: I dunno how I'd be without it :ohnoes: for me it went like this start up > create account > dl firefox and I love FF3 no problems with it
