Does anyone know if they affect salmon, trout and other lower level fish?

I think if you wear them you don't even burn them, even at the most minimal level.

From what I know, they only reduce the burning amount on high leveled fish, and trout does not count, though you can easily reach the level at which you will never burn them.

I think is about lvl 53. I don't burn them when I was lvl 60.

iirc, they only affect the fish you give the guy in the quest.
