Well, it would depend on what was in it. You would have to unzip/unrar it with a program like winrar or winzip (which I think is what that icon is), and there might be an exe or something inside that could be a virus or something. Other than that, they are usually used to compress large files/groups of files, like a picture album or a movie or something, to free up space and make the files smaller.

I'm with Nadril here. That's a .zip file...a bunch of compressed stuff put into one smaller file pretty much. I wouldn't download it unless I knew everything and anything that is or could be in it. That's the way you get viruses.

 

 

 

If you do trust the person, and download it, you can right-click the .zip/.rar file and SOME antiviruses will let you scan everything in it. Again, I'm not exactly sure about this either, but with WinRAR, you can double click and WinRAR automatically brings up a window displaying the contents.

Also, isn't Facebook a website (or it may be a program, I don't use it). So, logically, if it was a webiste, it probably wouldn't be a file, more like a link. (That is assuming it's a website.)
