Farming rannars while getting 99 hunter

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you trhink it would be a good idea to plant rannars whilst getting 99 hunter, if i did this it would give me an extra 8-10m profit over 130ish hours i have left of getting 99 hunter.

Now i have never farmed rannars so i don't know how long the process takes but i heard there is 4 hops where you can plant rannars, so i heard it takes around 60 mins for your herbs to succesfully grow, and i also heard you get from 4-15 rannars per hop. I averaged this to 7 rannars so 7*4=28 rannars per hour. if the seeds cost 25k per im making a nice 90k ish per hour. times that by 130 and ill have 12.4m for doing nothing at all. I'd be storing these rannars and after i get 99 hunter ill make them into prayer pots so i gget lots of farming xp and herby xp.

So all i want to know, will farming rannars make a big difference on me getting 99 hunter, how long does it take to plant in all 4 hops etc. I'd be getting all the supercompost before hand only need bout 500.

This thread is only on advice if i should farm rannars whilst getting 99 hunter, ill be making another with how i should do it if you guys say yes.

Thanks once again.

Yes this idea is quite practical and even making more money.

So yeah there are 4 patches:

1 )

ardougne_farm2.jpg ardy tele or fishing guild tele

2 )

catherby_farm2.jpg cammy tele

3 )

falador_farm2.jpg use glory

4 )

morytania_farm2.jpg

Ectophial reward from Ghost ahoy

there is one more herb patch which is disease-free( i.e. your herb would not die) provided that you completed a quest called my arm's big adventure.

it is suggested that you should use super compost for better yield and wield Magic Secateurs (enhancing yield for 10% more) when u are harvesting your herbs

for 130 hours u said.. that is 112 times harvesting ...assuming you plant 4 herbs at the same time ..that is 448 seeds ...so that is 448*7 that much ranarr weeds you will get

BTW you need at least 1k laws if you gonna implement that..

Use all FIVE patches, if you haven't done the quest yet, do it - it's not a hard one.

I hear the average pick is 6 herbs, averaging out for those that die too, i don't know if it'll make a hue difference but it's worth saying, that's what i've heard from a few seperate high level farmers.

I can't even begin to guess how much time it will knock off, depends how efficient you are at running round farming. Use glories to bank, tele everywhere you can to take off time, super energy pots, just get it down to as little time as possible then do your final bank at al kharid (glory tele) and use the planes to get back to the chinchompas. Or just go cw, idk which would be faster.

That's the question i am asking that gun hippy couldnt answer, how long does it take to run around and plant everything should only take like 6mins right?

And i understand the profit etc. and will do all quests have magic secatus (sp? =S) ill have all 5 patches etc. Just want to know how much time it takes so i can figure out how much xp ill lose, considering im not checking on it, it sohuld only take like 5 mins that's ok.

EDIT: what actually are all the quests needed for 5 patches and the magic secateurus (sp lol ?)

You also have to take into account that some might fail, this is decreased if you use supercompost which will need to be replenished from time to time. Another thing, unless you are planning on holding all your seeds in your inven while hunting, you will have to make bank trips. To add to that, unless you are only planning on getting the minimum with secatuers(4 herbs per patch) you will have to bank some of ther herbs during your run, so i'd say anywhere from 10-20 min depending on how fast and smooth you have the process down.

Hmm forgot about banking once i collect the rannars. that's a slight problem lol

Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad plan

Everytime you go to farm your liable to lose the chin spot to someone looking for an empty world.

Plus doing this would slow down your hunting speed dramatically and therefore extend the time taken by a high amount.

With a skill as fast to do as hunter a side project is not advisable, especially with how limited red chin spots are these days
