Runescape is makin me dizzy!

No matter what world, no matter what time of day, I get what is essentially lag.

 

 

 

My character stumbles the screen jerks, and all smoothness is gone. Oh and the screen freezes. I keep a very clean pc with a firewall, anti v etc and routinely cleanup after a session. This does not occur on any other website just Runescape.

 

 

 

This started about the time that the new billing system was up then in repair, wash rinse repeat. so a bit over a week.

 

 

 

Only other change is a Sun Java upgrade. Any ideas what could be causing the jerkiness etc?

hmm only thing i can think of is make sure any virus scan programs aren't up..thats what was causing me lag.

Hmmm it's never caused lag before but you never know. :(

If the only change was a java update that may be giving you problems.

 

 

 

 

 

Other than that http://www.speedtest.net , post your results. I kind of doubt it is internet lag but it's always good to make sure.

I'd also goto start -> run and then type 'dxdiag', no ''. Post your system specs.

 

 

 

If these aren't the problem...are you running too many background applications? Running IM, having an anti-virus doing background scanning, keeping a firewall running, listening to music, and playing RS at the same time uses a bit of RAM, as an example.

I have exactly the same problem!!

 

RS is just lagging so much since the billing thing and a Java update!

 

I've un- and re-installed Java and Firefox several times with no result

 

 

 

Tishala - I'll be keeping an eye on this topic, but if you manage to get it back to normal would you mind messaging me please? I'll do the same for you if I can get mine to work :thumbsup:
