Mamong
You may have read my other posts, but I recently bought a Leadtek 7600GT AGP card to put into my computer. I had a Geforce FX5200 and upgraded to the 7600GT. My computer runs with: P4 2.8ghz Single core, 1.3gb ram and the new 7600GT video card. We also bought Bioshock. After installing both Bioshock and Spellforce2 (came with the card) both games will start, show the developers credits, get to their respective main menus and then the computer will crash. The monitor says "No signal" but the computer keeps running. I have to turn the computer off (hold down the power button) and when I turn it back on I get my signal back. Windows runs find and it accepts my graphics card (installed with both the drivers that came with it and the latest Forceware drivers. Neither worked), just the games don't work. I would REALLY appreciate some help with this. Thanks. [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]
Mamong
Just like to post an update. I've tried Counter Strike: Source, Fifa 07, Halo and Quake 4. They ALL WORK with my new graphics card. However, Bioshock and Spellforce2 DON'T! Is this a specific problem then? das1330
It sounds like the card is completely shutting down rather then just locking up (A quick search on google seemed to suggest that a lack of power coming from the AGP slot is the problem). First, run through these steps (this should eliminate most possible causes) 1. Download speedfan (here) and post a screenshot of the results (under load) here - high temperatures might be causing your problem 2 try reseating the card (its unlikely, but possible) 3. Make SURE you download the newest drivers. Its the most likely cause of the problems. Its entirely possible you just got a bad card, which under certain circumstances produces errors. In that case, It would probably be best to just return it and exchange it with a new one.

I even installed demos of Overlord and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and they run fine. No problems, just like CS:S, Halo and Fifa. They all run fine. However, Bioshock and Spellforce give me that problem. It's odd. The latest drivers are installed by the way. JoeDaStudd
Normally I would point to the PSU, but it may also be over heating. If you could state the make and model of the PSU it would help. blade995
It sounds like a driver problem to me. Those two games that aren't working are newer games and probably need driver updates to work (I believe Bioshock had a problem like this). Download the newest drivers from http://www.nvidia.com and then try to play it. Whoever suggested that his card is overheating and suggested speedfan :shame: . Speedfan does not show the gpu temperature, he would need to use the program RivaTuner.
Mamong
Just thought I'd post an update as I am still having problems. I have tried all of the following: Updated to the latest drivers Changed the page file settings Turned down the resolution Turned down all the flashy effects Tried other games Checked the PSU (400w) Changed monitors Taken out an old stick of RAM Removed Norton's And Bioshock still won't work. Any more help would be greatly appreciated. [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]

Mamong
Unfortunately, there have been no patches released yet for Bioshock. [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]
