irc://irc.chat-addict.net/metallica

Should connect people to your room if they already have an irc client.

Otherwise get people to download something like mIRC and connect to irc.chat-addict.net then tell them to type /join #metallica

you say connecting just from internet explorer or firefox. im guessing that you connect to #runescape via the tipit website java client?

If you dont want to download mIRC then you can install the ChatZilla IRC extension for Firefox.

Ah, I should note that the homepage for ChatZilla is http://hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ - it's hard to get the page on mozilla.org updated. At the moment, it's quite outdated.

Yes, I know that the url of the homepage doesn't sound to good. No, it *is* a legitimate site (and IRC client) - or it wouldn't have gotten 4.5 out of 5 stars on http://update.mozilla.org

Matt, thanks for mentioning it :P
