I was wonderin how long it would take me to smelt 1k steel and is there a fast way to do it.

f2p, al kharid is the closest, and it will take 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours depending on if you pay attention or not

i wish they could maybe make this a lil more easier and less time consuming....maybe pouches or something, though they'd probably be for members.

Well, Al-Kharid is indeed the only "fast" place. That is IF you can talk of a fast place in F2P.
