December 18, 200718 yr My dad died the other day and I realized that I've been spending way too much time playing this game. I'm going to host an event on at 3 a.m., December 23st, 2007 at the Party Room in Falador, World 1, right before I quit. Members and Free Players are welcome. These video game items and money don't matter, and I hope other people realize this as well. I hope that they will give up some of their own valuables after I deposit all of mine (1m+) to show their support. As for what I'm going to put into the chest, I'm not sure yet. I might convert all of my ores, bars and runes to gp to make room for the things other people might put in, or I might not. Please don't spam the chest with worthless things, sell them to the general store and deposit the gp instead. Please don't pull the lever early. Give something up for the cause, and free yourself from the illusion that virtual items really matter. After conversing with other players from 3 - 3:29 a.m. (-5:00 GMT) and waiting for the value of treasures in the chest to increase a bit, I will deposit my items and pull the lever, ending my (almost) 7 year runescape career forever.

Then I'll make my way to the Falador Party room and chat with other players until 3:30, at which time I'll deposit my belongings (I converted everything I own to 1,015,000 gp). Then I'll say my goodbyes and log off for the final time at 4 am. Hurry! UPDATE: The Party was a success. At first I stayed at Draynor Manor (which was my favorite place to hang out since Runescape first came out) until 3. Then I came over to the party room and talked with my friends for half an hour. As far as I know, the only person from these forums that saw my post and came was Sungodis. I found someone to record the event for me (I'll post the vid here as soon as he puts it up on youtube) and then I deposited 1,010,000 gp and pulled the lever. Keep in mind that this was in world 1. Almost immediately people began teleporting there and it filled up more than any party I've ever seen. I tried to answer all the questions about who was hosting the party and everything but there were too many noobs pretending it was them. After it was over I said my goodbyes and logged off from Runescape forever.
