o_knames
I've been leveling farming lately with my seeds from Miscellania. I've got a nature ammy to tell me when the plots are done. I've been noticing something I think it odd. I have been planting pineapple trees in the same order. I always plant in Catherby before Gnome Stronghold. Only, the Gnome Stronghold frequently finishes growing before Catherby. (In the current case, Gnome Stronghold finished in 11 hours, while Catherby is still growing after 28.) I've also documented this for apple trees as well. The only thing I can think of, is the periods for these plots are not in sync, and I miss the rollover for Catherby and have to wait what amounts to an extra period beyond what I catch in the Gnome Stronghold. Does this seem reasonable? Have others noticed the same thing? Dexek
There is a set time. If you are unaware, the plants can still become diseased when a farmer is watching them. The only difference is that the farmer gives them the disease antidote. This takes some time, so your trees will take longer than the set time. The skill guide for farming, on the main page has the set times. I believe all fruit trees are the same, but the wood bearing trees all have different times. :) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Martin_Danio
I have noticed the same, Gnome Stronghold is often much faster than the other plots. I always plant Gnomes Stronghold, Tre Gnome Village, and Brimhaven, in that order, I normally don't cut down my palm in Catherby as I used to make a bit of cash on selling coconuts. The Tree in Gnomes is always the first to grow, and since the one in Tre Gnomes Village has always been completed when the one in Brimhaven was, I have assumed it was caused by being planted a tick before the others. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and yours. If you believe this add this to your sig. Dancing

There are still some things I don't understand, though. For instance, it doesn't explain why fruit trees are timed at 14.6 hours, according to the guide, but my ammy tells me it's done after 11 hours. It took me a couple of days of growing and thinking I wasn't keeping time correctly, but I've been meticulous for the last week or so, and it's happened a few times. Regardless, I'm going to keep a full log from here out to see if I can't get some good data upon which to test possible explanations.
