Pictures breaking rules?

In General there were a topic about a few summoning creatures that have already been introduced into the game, however not for the public eyes. The models were extracted from the RS lib. This time it had been extracted with the help of whats known as "private RS servers". Although these models could be extracted using other methods (like the current RS client, however it would result in an instant account ban). Although discussing how these pictures were obtain does conflict with the rules, the pictures themselves does not.

Now this topic disappeared for me. I guess it was the result of the topic evolving into talks about RS hacking rather than discussion about the summoning monsters that were posted in it.

I believe these pictures were of such an interest to the general RS public that they should be shared to those who want to get a sneak peak of how these monsters will look in game. There is a ton of possible ways to share these pictures and sneak peaks without spurring discussion about rs client hacking if thats the concern of the admins/mods here at Tip.it. I would hope that creativity and innovation would be valued a little bit more instead of just strict rule enforcing in the future.

We enforce our rules to the degree where not enforcing them would be almost encouraging people to break other rules. If the topic had managed to remain on topic about the images, then it is possible that the topic would not have been locked. If you remember the name of the person who originally posted these images, you might be able to contact him/her directly and ask for the images yourself. Short of that, unless the person reposts them, there is nothing that can be done.

NOTE: I am not a moderator, so I cannot say for certain that my views on the situation do not conflict with rules that the moderators are required to follow regarding situations like this.

While we do allow pictures revealing information that Jagex is hiding (such as hidden skill icons), gaining information from private servers is against rules so we cannot make any exceptions. We have to be strict or else people will ask how to get those private servers, someone might post fake pictures, or even post a keylogging fake private server.
