A Guthans set allows to to heal on the (I forget what they're called, spinolyps?), and can double the length of your trips. I'd highly recommend getting one if you're solo maging. You basically safespot Rex with Mage protect on to help against supreme.

Well,the other picture I gave you is full Mystic, but you'll get hit a fair amount. You could also wear a god staff. The Fremmenik Mage helm isnt too bad. A grnaite or Crystal Shield is also nice. You really want good range def, as thats the only thing that will be hitting you. You could also try an obby shield. You could try rune, but you wont hit very well. The suicider lets you get into position.

Can you afford veracs? If so use the and magic dart. That is your best bet.

i was thinking about veracs too, their quite cheap and have good defence bonuses, low minus mage attack, good prayer bonuses too, and their not so expensive

 

 

 

edit: maybe add a dragon sq there too :-k

You could try splitbark. It has better def than mystic.

You could use veracs, but i'm not entirely sure on the method, i only used guthans. If you can only afford veracs, use it and dk money for guthans, as it makes it so much easier.
