Nomrombom
Here it is. When the skill of hunter came out, I did not care. Hunting was not one of my priorities. Nor was the construction skill when that came out. Neither skill was a great money maker. Construction? Buying millions worth of wood and nails and everything else so I could have a house? What use was a house? I just continued my mining... and my ranging and attack and cooking and so on. I became absorbed in the flow of people attracted to other skills. Hunter? Red Chinchompas are about the only greatly useful thing from it. I could spend my 500k on logs or ores or arrows. Jagex asking me to spend my hard earned money for the sake of something close to useless? No way. I kept working at my regular, old, familiar skills. I watched as Zezima and others raced to become the first to reach Numero Uno. I could refresh the highscores every 10 seconds and it would change around. Slowly and steadily my mining climbed to level 60. I glimpsed the Mining guild for the first time. My prayer huffed and puffed its way to level 43. I checked out my new melee protection. My attack became 70. I could finally use an Abyssal Whip. Then came the awful part- raising the money. I've now got over 840k. Meanwhile, my construction and hunter remained low. I did not even buy a house, and still do not own one. I raised my hunter to level 14, in the Feldip hills, and then quit. And yet my other skills climbed up. I trained my range for a long time, and it fascinated me. I then went back to making money by law running, a most boring method. I took some time off to play in the snow, get a snowglobe, make some snow warriors, talk to the blue imps. Then went back to money making again. And now, here I am. "What is your point," you ask. My point is that runescapers have been reluctant to latch on to new skills. They keep training their old, familiar skills, leaving construction and hunter as some of their lower skills-usually. And the pures. Of course, they don't care about construction or hunter. The new summoning skill should break this cobweb. It can help you in combat, which is, of course, a true heart of Runescape. We, the runescapians of today, must branch out. We stick to the old and safe. We creep away from the unknown, not just in RS, but also in real life. When asked the fateful question of Mr. Robert Frost: "Two paths diverged in a yellow wood..." most say they would take the path more traveled. That can account for most of us. I say that I would take the path less traveled because I like exploring in the woods, but that is just me and my very literal brain. So. Which path would you take? Please give me some feedback. I sent this in the correct way, but just wanted to share it if anyone wants to offer a piece of advice for it. Thanks. EDIT: Sorry about that. If a mod wants to move it then thats alright. Didn't know what to post it in. PM me for fitocracy invite
InkofDeath
Maybe just have posted in Help And Advice, but not here. I know your asking for help, but this is far from the proper place to ask for it. =S
