Knotch_Blade
Buying a computer, It needs to be a Laptop. It needs to be under 1,000USD and be semi-efficient. All I'll be doing on this is School/Work Stuff, and playing RuneScape, I might even do a little bit of iTunes. What should I buy? ~Knotch My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
Nadril
This is a nice laptop, especially if you throw in this memory so you will have 2 gig's for vista. That will place you right around the ~1,000 mark.

The only thing is if he wants to upgrade his memory most of the time laptops with 1GB is that it's 2x 512MB sticks so he will have to replace all of the memory. Hah I'll be damned, it does have an HD DVD drive... awesome. anyways if you need another cheap 2 gigs to replace this looks like a damn good deal. 30 bucks after rebate for 2 gigs! Knotch_Blade
Uh, yea I don't really like Vista. So, I might downgrade any preloaded operation system, if that is possible. ~Knotch My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination

I also agree with Nadril on the dislike for Vista - it's really not as bad as everyone says it is. A lot of it is purely rumours made up and spread around the internet. The only reason that I was forced to downgrade was driver trouble. Stay with Vista - you might like it.
Brandon_7
Or he could just buy one 2GB stick and use it along with one of the 512MB stick that's already there.
Knotch_Blade
Well, I previously had a Sony Vaio w/ Vista and it was really slow. Don't know whether if it was the Vaio or Vista =\ ~Knotch My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
Nadril
It was the vaio. Honestly if you don't have 2 gig's of ram with vista its going to be a bit iffy.
