January 6, 200818 yr Using a rune or bone crossbow? I'm pretty sure the bolts fire faster with the bone crossbow, so it turns out better, but I'm not positive. Thanks.
January 6, 200818 yr As long as you are not fighting monsters with high defense, such as metal dragons, I would use bone bolts and x-box. Both have same speed and bone bolts can hit like addy bolts, but much cheaper. Geaux Tigers ! Congrats on a great year !

Both have same speed and bone bolts can hit like addy bolts, but much cheaper. Bone Bolts are NOT as strong as addy bolts. With addy bolts i can hit upwards of 30. With bone bolts i hit 19. That's not as much as even mith. So they are somewhere between steel and mithril. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. January 6, 200818 yr According to most websites I have read they all say bones bolts can hit LIKE addy bolts. Yes, I understand they cannot hit as high as addy bolts, but for a 4 gp or less bolt they hit well enough. Which brings me back to my original post, as long as you are not fighting high defense monsters, nothing beats the bone x-bow right now for cost and effectiveness. Geaux Tigers ! January 6, 200818 yr Author Oh wait, I didn't consider whether or not the rune crossbow CAN use bone bolts. That's probably what's confusing here, and I didn't even stop to consider it myself. And they're not. Duh. I'm just crazy, question answered.
