Sbrideau
Hi people. For a few months now, I had some noise coming out of my computer, which I found my video card fan was doing. It's as if the fan is broken but I don't know since it still turns and that my card is still working fine. I have tried cleaning it but it didn't work much, lowered the sound or a few days then restarted making a worse sound. My card is a Nvidia Geforce 7300 LE. Came with the computer when I bought it. Thanks in advance for people helping me.
das1330
I take it the computer is a desktop? In that case, it depends on what you do with the computer. If you just web surf and do things that don't strain the graphics card much (and thus don't produce much heat), you might be able to just let the fan die and go along normally, but since the card cannot get rid of heat was well, you may have overheating problems. If that happens, you might want to consider replacing the fan on the card yourself - for most cards its pretty easy, and it shouldn't cost more then 2-3$. Sbrideau
Thank you, but there's something I forgot to mention, it only does that when I start the computer #-o After 5 mins to 30 mins the sound dies out. And yes it is a Desktop. But then again, you may be right, but at least I don't play much on games making the card heat, well, very rarely do I play games taking more than Rs does. Nadril
It may just be dust in it or something, or if it's an older machine they tend to do that as they get older. As long as it isn't that bad or overheating your PC I would say its a non-issue.
OldJoe
Hmm, i can't think of a specific reason for it to sound. Since you aren't playing any (graphical heavy) games. And haven't overclocked it and it's not heating up to high levels... But as some say, maybe there's some dust or something at the fan/s, so try cleaning out a bit. And if it dies out after a while... I can't be a loose piece lol. And as someone, computers that has a couple of years on it's neck can sometimes tend to sound a bit weird. J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé
