January 15, 200818 yr Hyt! just a quick question for all you avid rangers out there, What are your thoughts on regular chins? im 77 range, so i dont really qualify for red chins yet, but i was thinking, WAIT, there are still normal chin chompas. They have a lower required level, and im guessing they will still give me good xp at ape atoll? Anyone know anything about this. I am aware that my xp rate will not rival the famous red chins, but would this be worthwhile testing these?
January 15, 200818 yr They can be half-decent xp at lower levels, but they do not make as good use of prayer potions, so it would be much more beneficial for you to have higher prayer before attempting(46 prayer, I believe?) If you have some cash to waste, then go ahead, but you're gonna churn through those pots. January 15, 200818 yr Normal chins are a total waste. I had about 600 to waste from hunting and I never hit over 10. Thats an average of a whopping 5 damage per hit. 5X9=45 damage per shot. Lets see.... How much are steel arrows nowadays? You hit just harder with those but you can buy 30x more. 30 steel arrows (assuming 1:4 break) at an average of 6 damage each = 540 damage.

You hit just harder with those but you can buy 30x more. 30 steel arrows (assuming 1:4 break) at an average of 6 damage each = 540 damage. so in other words, 30 regular chins would give me 45*30(4) = 5.4k xp whilst 30 steel arrows would give me 540(4) = 2.16k xp
