January 15, 200818 yr Hi I have Windows XP, and when I start my computer, the usb plugs work. It's only when the computer is on for a few hours that it starts doing that, the usb that are not used by the mouse (that means only one is used on the 5 that are on the computer), when I plug a device, maybe the printer or the usb key, they don't show up on windows as online. For those who think it is the powersave, no it is not enabled. Also, I have the same problem with the screen, when I start the computer half of the time I have tu shut it off and start it again for something to show up on the screen after loading windows. Thank your for you help in advance and if you guys need more info I will give info.
January 15, 200818 yr For the screen check the connection from the screen to the Pc as well as the screens power supply. How much time do you give windows to show the USB devices? If you only wait for a minute or two, leave it 5 or 10 minutes and see if it shows up. It may just be windows has a lot of programs to handle. /\Are the only thinks I can think of at this moment in time. January 16, 200818 yr Author Seems it's neither... Maybe buying vista and putting it on the computer could repair a lot lol I've been thinking about that for a while now, just, vista is quite expensive.
January 16, 200818 yr Buy new ones, I had a similar problem and I got new ones and then they worked fine. For me the connection was just bad, but I don't know in your case... :-s I'm a thinker but am often short of words sorry if my posts are shorter than expected...OMG I cant wait for the cleaning skill! Congratz, You are now level 99 cleaning, you can clean rust stains with all new Extra Strength CLR!
January 16, 200818 yr Author They are attached to my motherboard (the usb plugs) so I don't know if I can remove them from there or not (didn't look yet).

You don't need to remove them, just buy a pci usb addon card, or you can buy ones which connect to a spare usb header on your motherboard. This is not guaranteed to fix your problem though. oober
