runesmithie
I've been playing around with some Ubuntu LiveCD's lately, and I am getting tired of not having a permanent home for it... Now how would I go about setting up a 10gb partition on a used drive and setting my comp up for dual booting? I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. runesmithie
Ok, so I've been searching a round a little more about dualbooting ubuntu and winxp and it seems it can get troublesome Would I just be better off buying a laptop solely to use linux on? If so, what brand has the best stock hardware support? I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.
Pyro
Go VMWare! http://www.vmware.com/ Basically you use it to emulate another computer, so that you can run Linux inside a program in Windows. It will be a bit slower since another operating system is running in the background, but it's great.

runesmithie
Turns out I'll be formatting the comp soon and I'll be going from a clean install, are there any tutorials out there that would give help for something like this? I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.

Install windows first then Ubuntu. Its better that way. If it doesn't work you can always reformat... Or format the partition Ubuntu is on and restore the thing that asks you what OS to boot... I forgot the name for some reason.
